Talamex shaft anodes with an internal hexagon made of zinc protect metal parts of the underwater hull from electrochemical corrosion. This sacrificial anode is mounted on the end of the drive shaft directly behind the propeller using a screw. The less noble zinc sacrifices itself for the more noble metals such as the propeller, drive shaft or sea valves and thus protects them from electrochemical corrosion. As a rule, the anode must be replaced annually during winter storage, or several times a year in the event of very severe degradation.
