The Talamex, hull anode flat, aluminium protects the metal parts of the underwater hull from electrochemical corrosion, especially in fresh water and brackish water. Compared to zinc anodes, they have an up to 50% longer service life, a higher effectiveness potential and a lower weight. This sacrificial anode can be universally mounted on the underwater hull using metal strips. The less noble aluminium sacrifices itself for the more noble metals such as the propeller, drive shaft or sea valves and thus protects them from pitting. As a rule, the anode must be replaced annually during winter storage, or twice a year in the case of very severe decomposition.
