The Talamex spherical zinc shaft anode protects the metal parts of the underwater hull of boats from electrochemical corrosion. This sacrificial anode consists of two half-shells and is clamped onto the propeller shaft. The less noble zinc sacrifices itself for the more noble metals of the propeller, drive shaft or sea valve and thus protects them from pitting. As a rule, the anode must be replaced annually during winter storage, or twice a year if it is very badly decomposed.
