Wichard, Boom Brake Gyb Easy

The innovative Wichard Gyb Easy boom brake prevents the main boom from coming over abruptly, e.g. during a patent gybe. The boom brake can be shackled directly to the lower edge of the boom, e.g. in the attachment point of the mainsheet, and can be used universally for both modern and classic yachts. The supplied sheet is guided through the boom brake according to the desired damping; due to the friction this creates, sudden and rapid movement of the boom is prevented. This damping can be adjusted in four strengths by guiding the sheet accordingly. The Gyb Easy boom brake is an important safety utensil for yachts and can prevent serious injuries and material damage caused by unintentional gybing. Further info:
